Travel Jeannie … aka Jeannie Appelbaum

I’m Jeannie, the heart and soul behind Travel Jeannie. My journey began with a blog during a solo backpacking adventure between undergrad and grad school, where I spent 14 months exploring four continents. This experience not only deepened my passion for travel but also provided me with firsthand knowledge of breathtaking, once-in-a-lifetime destinations around the globe.

Today, I channel this passion and expertise into crafting personalized itineraries for individuals, couples, families, and friends. Whether you’re seeking a quick weekend getaway, a special occasion trip, or a bucket-list adventure, I’m here to help make it happen!

While my travels have evolved from hostels to boutique luxury, I offer a unique perspective tailored to every client, no matter their travel style or preferences.

And here’s a bonus: I’m also a therapist. My listening skills enable me to create itineraries that truly reflect your interests, style, and dreams. Let’s work together to design your perfect travel experience!

Here are some of my favorite memories!

  • Visit Angkor Wat

Visiting Angkor Wat at sunrise was both peaceful and breathtaking. After touring the ancient temple the afternoon before, I decided to see the ruins bathed in the morning glow. To my surprise, I stumbled upon monks and other yogis preparing for morning yoga and meditation. They kindly invited me to join, adding a serene and unforgettable dimension to my visit

  • Climb Torres Del Paine

Hiking up to Torres del Paine was one of the most memorable days of my life. The breathtaking scenery, combined with engaging hiking conversations and great company, followed by Pisco Sours and delicious food, made it a truly perfect day. Whether you're tackling the full W trek or just exploring parts of Patagonia, this region will undoubtedly take your breath away.

  • Island Hopping

I’m a sun bum at heart, so island hopping is my ultimate paradise! I’ve lived on a sailboat for a week in Greece, the BVI's, and the Maldives, and there's nothing like unwinding with the motion of the sea, savoring fresh seafood, and catching the sunrise and sunset each day. While I didn't do a live-aboard in Belize, Seychelles, the Dalmatian coast of Croatia, or the Bahamas, just spending days with salt and sun on my face exploring different islands was pure bliss.

  • Gorilla Trek Through Uganda

I embarked on a trek through Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to find a gorilla family in their natural habitat. Observing their motor skills and behavior really makes you think about how much humans have evolved. Truly spectacular experience!

  • Hike Up Lion's Head At Sunrise

Hiking up Lion's Head should be on everyone’s Cape Town bucket list. Waking up early and climbing the ladders and chains to catch the morning sun peeking over Table Mountain was truly unforgettable. It was an incredible start to the day and a moment I'll never forget!

  • Spend The Night in the Amazon

During college, I participated in Semester at Sea, traveling the world on a floating campus cruise ship. That semester abroad ignited my love for adventure, but spending a night in a hammock on a boat cruising down the Amazon River, followed by another night in the rainforest, was a major highlight

  • Adrenaline Thrills

For the adventurous at heart, nothing beats the thrill of bungee jumping and skydiving! The rush of the Nevis Bungy followed by a relaxing stay in Queenstown is hard to beat. I've also skydived above the Swiss Alps in Lauterbrunnen, over the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns, and in South Africa. Now, I’m on a mission to skydive on every continent!

  • Foodie's Take Paris

I'm a huge foodie, so eating my way through any city is a must for me, but French food is my absolute favorite! From escargot and frites to cheese, croque monsieur, and wine—nothing beats it. I love visiting local grocery stores or cafes to pack a picnic and enjoy it in the park. My husband and I relish sitting in the park, people-watching, and playing cards while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of wherever we are. Bring a bottle of wine and some snacks to the Eiffel Tower, and you won’t regret it!
